These are the most common fly casting bad habits I encounter when giving fly fishing instruction and during fly fishing charters. The most common is using too much wrist. Second is failing to make a stop then a follow through when delivering the fly. Third is too short of a stroke with too much power, which causes closed or tailing loops and “wind knots”.
